Reflections on 2008

This year I have:
  • Sent my babies off to kindergarten for the first time
  • Nearly lost my beloved dog to a bowel obstruction (he has survived and thrived thank goodness)
  • Had a visit from my brothers-in-law from Sydney and two visits from my parents-in-law
  • Caught up with a long lost friend in Melbourne
  • Entered my first ever cake in the Perth Royal Show
  • Started a vegie garden and started to eat from it
  • Learnt how to compost - and stuck to it!
  • Grown a back lawn for the children to play on and the dogs to eat (grr)
  • Got my career back on track and returned to work full time
  • Hosted my first ever family Christmas shindig
  • Finally (and reluctantly) accepted that I am not going to have any more children
  • Lost two old friends, one in very traumatic circumstances
A year of ups and downs, but overall not a bad one. 2009 will be the year of Mindfulness. Of getting in control of my anxiety and tendency towards rushing through life. Of learning how to find that balance between a career and a family. Of renovating our family room and gorwing a front garden to match the back one. And hopefully of a holiday - somewhere, anywhere!

Happy New Year!
