The way a weekend SHOULD be

What a great weekend I had :). My wonderful girlfriend Mel flew into Perth this weekend from her high-flying London/Dubai life which of course heralded..."GIRLS' NIGHT". Woo hoo!

Five of us dined on scrummy Indonesian, Burmese and Thai food at Toba Oriental Dining House accompanied by much wine and hilarity. The food was fabulous and ridiculously cheap, service outstanding. Off to The Brisbane after dinner where we felt far too old and unfashionable, but amused ourselves by laughing at all the pretty young things and how cold they must be wearing next to nothing in the dead of winter. Then, back to my house for more wine. I was reminded during the night of the movie The Sweetest Thing. We girls are pretty foul when we get together LOL.

Nursing a hangover, we went out for breakfast next morning (husband, kids and one of my friends who stayed over). Brekky was average but much needed. Then in the afternoon we all headed out to The Ironbark Brewery for a relaxing winter's afternoon. Good beer, good food and great company - my bestest girlfriends and assorted kids, including my goddaughter who somehow turned into a grownup overnight (nearly 15)! My wonderful girlfriend Lou was the main attraction, performing with her husband Pete as the duo "Two Rowes Back". The Ironbark is their regular Sunday afternoon gig and they are great!

That's the way weekends should be :)
