The girls and I spent this evening at the school's "Welcome Night". I love this about our school. Cheap food, a band, drumming group, glowsticks and (the icing on the cake for the girls) a free bouncy castle on the school oval. Kids running everywhere, parents on blankets and chairs, wine glasses in hand on a warm summer's evening.
I noticed something tonight - our school has a disproportionately high number of cool parents. As in funky, interesting clothes cool. Perfectly accessorised in an interesting and totally unwanky way cool. Hipster dads with funky hats cool. It's groovy baby. When I grow up I want to be one of the cool parents.
