How to have a bad day 101

Start it by waking up with a hangover. That's always a good start to the day.

Try to get the house in a semi-reasonable state for the babysitters that evening, but make sure you have 2 bored and fighting children under foot and a husband out of the house.

Help husband carry home brew into the house when he gets home. Question the strength of the container he has them in, but believe him when he says "It's fine." Just to prove your point, the bottom of the container falls out, smashing beer bottles all over your newly cleaned floor. And make sure the bottom of the container lands on your big toe. Don't check the cleaning job he has done, and let your children run around barefoot to ensure a sliver of glass ends up in one of their feet.

Feet bandaged, and floor cleaned try and get dressed for the Ball you are heading out for. Make sure you are having a really bad hair day and the babysitters are late. Make sure the collar of the dinner shirt your husband has borrowed for the occasion has a pencil neck, so that the button needs moving at the last minute.

Arrive at the Ball an hour late and lull yourself into a false sense of security that everything is fine now by having a fantastic time! Dance the night away.

Sit down and have a glass of water, say goodbye to everyone leaving and debate whether to keep dancing. Have sudden heart palpitations, don't let them go away. Have husband insist on driving you to hospital. Get rushed straight in with a resting heart rate of 160bpm. Spend the next 6 hours in ED hooked up to machines. Ensure the usual methods of reversing the tachycardia don't work. Be pricked, prodded poked. Don't sleep. Watch your heart rate on the monitor not dropping below 100bpm. Listen to the alarm going off every 5 mins. Listen to the screaming of the traumas being brought in. 6 hours later, be released and go home with drs declaring "We think you just have a UTI and your heart is just working a bit too hard with the infection in your body, but go and see your own dr to make sure there isn't anything else wrong with your heart."

The End.

PS I feel totally fine now, 2 days later. Am off to Canberra for work in a few minutes so will be off line for a week.
